Honolulu Community Gardens 50th Anniversary Celebration

Families, nature lovers and green thumbs came out on Saturday, Sept. 13, to the Foster Botanical Garden to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Honolulu Recreational Community Gardening Program! Members from all 11 Community Gardens came to showcase their work, and representatives from academic institutions, government agencies, and gardening organizations offered educational displays and more. The video above provides a glimpse of all the fun; below, Dr. Nat Bletter offers a tip for those who want to start grafting. We’ll be sharing a longer video with his grafting demonstration soon!
