Starting Flowers from Seed Workshop

University of Hawai'i O'ahu Master Gardeners invite you to “Creating a Paradise with Flowers,” a beginner’s session to seed starting. Flowers will attract pollinators that will in turn increase your food harvest. There are only a few tickets left at this workshop 9:30-10:30 am October 6th at the Urban Garden Center in Pearl City. Cost is $5 - register on Eventbrite.

"FOR x CHANGE" @ Koko Crater Botanical Garden, 8 am-noon: Horticulturist Talia Portner will lead some light restoration work in the Hawaiian section of the garden, followed by a brief tour of Hawaiian plants, from 8 am-noon. Click here to RSVP.
Ka Papa Lo‘i o Kānewai First Saturday Community Work Day, 8 am-noon: First Saturdays are open to anyone in the community looking for an opportunity to experience traditional farming methods, converse with Hawaiian Language speakers, talk story with practitioners, ku‘i ‘ai, ku‘i ka imu, and enjoy the day with family and friends. No reservations are required but you are required to sign a waiver. Click here for more info.
Permaculture Saturdays at Kolea Farm, 9 am-2 pm: Learn about permaculture design and organic growing practices every Saturday at Kolea Farm in the North Shore. Plant local produce and trees, maintain existing permaculture systems, and harvest and learn about organic farming through community involvement. Mini food prep workshop at the end.
